Finding this video was like a confirmation of a way of living.  It was a dream come true. Actually it meant I could give substance and a basis to my children and justify why I was always making up words or mixing up languages and terms just for the fun of it!.  (By the way, the kids obviously love it, until they are old enough to start feeling embarrassed and finally asking you to s... up!).

So the other day, while in France in an excellent hotel with a poor wifi connection (as usual right?) I was lucky enough to download Erin McKean video. Yes, it is a very short one, therefore the intro with the wifi situation.  A normal TED video would have not worked that day.

In a fun, fact filled video, Erin explains why to invent words and how to do it.  It MAKES TOTAL SENSE and I loved it from the start.

Since I was a kid I enjoyed making terms and then looking up for a meaning.  Of course I did not do it for the same reason Erin describes, although I might start doing it in the future.  Check our READ ME section to see how we came up with GÜETCHU, our brand and company name, an invented word with meaning!

So, go on, invent and share new words.  You will have fun and contribute to the future generations.
